The Colonial Secretary read the first of the charges to be inquired into, viz:-
Receiving from Chan Hok-ting, Master of the Lik Ki Shop or Firm, Contractors, 43 East Street, Ground Floor, the sum of $25 in or about the year 1902 or 1903,
and Mr. Conolly's answer to the charge as follows:-
To the best of my knowledge I have never met the above-named person and can conscientiously state that this charge is also false. To this charge, there is also no translation.
